Digext is built with privacy at its core. Your content stays on your device by default. We do not collect, store, or transmit personal information, with the limited exceptions described below covering diagnostic logs you choose to submit and optional third-party AI chat providers you choose to sign in to.
All content is stored locally on your device using an on-device database. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is managed entirely by Apple's CloudKit infrastructure under your Apple account — Digext does not receive or have access to your synced data.
Digext does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising identifiers. No third-party SDKs collect data from your usage.
AI features such as title and tag generation are powered by Apple Intelligence and run entirely on your device. No data is sent to external AI services.
Chat can be powered by on-device Apple Intelligence or, optionally, by third-party models such as Claude or ChatGPT/OpenAI models. On-device models keep your messages on your device. If you sign in to a third-party provider, the messages you send in chat are transmitted to that provider's servers so they can generate a response, and are handled according to that provider's own privacy policy and terms. Digext does not receive or store a copy of those requests. You can continue using on-device models at any time to keep chat fully local.
Digext writes diagnostic logs to your device to help diagnose issues. These logs are sanitized and do not contain the content of your items, chats, or other personal data. Logs remain on your device unless you choose to submit a bug report. When you submit a bug report, you can preview the log before sending, and the log is emailed to [email protected] solely for the purpose of investigating the issue you reported.
No account or registration is required to use Digext. No personal information is collected at any point.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the app. Continued use of Digext constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
